Do I need to clean the valve?

After reassembling the valve, tap the edge of the valve housing lightly. If there is adequate play between the housing and the pressure indicator, the valve is operational again. Finally, lightly pull on the black knob, testing for resistance which will assure you that the spring is properly seated in the valve.
